If you’ve been thinking about playing with IBM Cognos Insight, but haven’t got around to it yet, now is the perfect opportunity to get your hands dirty and win global kudos!
Tim O’Bryan has set the challenge on AnalyticsZone to take what is possibly THE most boring data on earth – that is the results of the 2012 British Open – and derive some serious insight using nothing but your desktop, IBM Cognos Insight, and a little creativity. With the free trial version available for download – there are no more excuses.
Here’s the catch – in order to be able to claim the title of Cognos Insight Conqueror, you have to come up with the best and most insightful design in under 45 minutes, and you’ve only got until Friday to do it.
With zero knowledge on golf, here’s my attempt at analysing the 2012 British Open.
I also created a second tab focused on home-town boy, Adam Scott, and he’s epic collapse in the final rounds of the tournament. In respect for my grieving nation, I will keep that to myself 🙂
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to head to AnalyticsZone to download both a trial version of IBM Cognos Insight (if you haven’t already) and the starter Insight application created by Tim.
Then, you have 45 minutes – game on!
